Grizzly bear in spring snow

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Yukon! It seems that a lot of people out camping were taken by surprise by the snow during the long weekend. This grizzly was enjoying the early morning sunshine after a night of light snowfall last Monday in the Yukon Southern Lakes region.

Trumpeter Swans, Yukon Territory

It’s as sure a sign of spring as any, the Trumpeter Swans have returned to their favorite resting area in M’Clintock Bay on Marsh Lake, in the Yukon Southern Lakes Area. Approximately 750 swans were counted last week in the bay by the Swan Haven biologists. Each year about 10% of North America’s Trumpeter Swans stop here during spring migration.
